About
How do I work?

I do not believe in “one size fit all” approach when it comes to diet, because we are all very different, not only physically but biochemically. That's why together, we will explore what works for YOU.
We will establish a vision and set achievable goals. During this process you will learn to read and listen to what your body needs.

With ongoing emotional support, accountability and personalized plans, you will have the tools needed to learn and integrate healthier habits into your lifestyle.

Along the way I will make sure that your coaching experience is one of a kind!

My Story

Since I was 7 years old I have suffered from severe migraines. My parents did everything in their power to try to help me avoid those intense episodes that would have me in a dark room, with nausea, and light and noise sensitivity. I tried every treatment possible and nothing seemed to work.

In the meantime, I was introduced to a Nutritionist that helped me put my diet in order. I stopped eating certain foods like processed meats, bananas, strawberries, chocolates, among others and my symptoms seemed to be more controlled. Slowly my migraines started being less frequent and they weren't as intense as they used to be.

Through this experience I noticed the importance of food in our daily lives. That, motivated me to become a nutritionist. I wanted to be able to help other people with different ailments to feel at their best.

So once I graduated from high school I was admitted in one of the most prestigious universities in Mexico City (Universidad Iberoamericana) to study Nutrition and Food Science. For four years, I studied the biochemistry of nutrition and developed a strong, clinical understanding of the science of food. Following my studies, I completed a one-year internship, rotating in many areas of the hospital and developed a Thesis in Necrotizing Enterocolitis.

During my internship I worked in the Department of Endocrinology participating with the health team creating nutritional treatments for patients living with Gestational Diabetes, Diabetes Mellitus, Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism. I also worked in the Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit assessing the nutritional status of patients and their possible need of metabolic support. I rotated on the Oncology Unit where I assessed patients with a compromised nutritional status due to their medical treatments.

I did some community work as well, participating in the design of a program of food orientation for children in risk or with current nutritional problems in some of the communities in need, in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Once I graduated from university I was hired by two great Clinical Nutritionists. I learnt a lot from them and after several months of working in the clinic, I decided to open my own practice.

During that time I worked in conjunction with a heart specialist, helping people with hypertension problems achieve a healthier life by lowering their blood pressure. I helped people manage their diabetes and I also helped patients manage weight problems.

In the meantime, while I was running my Nutrition Office, I was hired by one PEMEX's Cooperative Shop, to create and implement a Wellbeing Program for their employees, achieving great results.

After that, I moved to Canada, and now I live in Grimsby, Ontario where I founded Vitalia Nutrition to continue doing what I love and to help you feel at your best!
