About Maria
My Story
Being passionate on what I do inspired me in creating Vitalia Nutrition. I firmly believe that food plays a very important role in our health. I am against “one size fit all” approach when it comes to diet, because we are all very different, not only physically but biochemically.
I graduated from one of the most prestigious Universities in Mexico City (Universidad Iberoamericana). After 4 years of study in the field of Nutrition and Food Science and 1 year of internship I became a Nutritionist.
I have worked in the Department of Endocrinology participating with the health team in the responsibility of nutritional treatments of patients with Gestational Diabetes, Diabetes Mellitus, Hyperthyroidism and Hypothyroidism. I have also worked in the Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit assessing the nutritional status of patients and their possible need of metabolic support. On the Oncology Unit I assessed patients with a compromised nutritional status due to their medical treatments.
I have done some community work as well, participating in the design of a program of food orientation for children in risk or with current nutritional problems in some of the communities in Oaxaca, Mexico.
I implemented a Wellbeing Program for the employees of a big company achieving some great results. Corporations nowadays understand the benefits of having healthier employees, they take less sick days, they perform better and they feel happier, not only in their jobs but also in their lives.
My goal with Vitalia Nutrition is to help you feel renewed and re-energized with a nutrition strategy that’s tailored to your needs, interests and health. You will learn how to eat a balanced and nutritious meal while incorporating your favourite food!
